The following items are U.S. Gutterback Spurs from The U.S. Civil War. These spurs come as a set as they are perfectly matched. The one spur was tagged as coming from a Confederate Camp in Shelbyville, Tennessee and the other tag on the other spur said it was recovered in Tennessee. It could very well be possible they were a pair as they are extremely close in color and condition. Overall they are in very solid condition and were dug spurs. They are called "Gutterback" spurs due to the inside of the spur where it is carved out. Only about 10% of U.S. spurs were Gutterbacks. The rowels on these are still somewhat present but are worn down and will not move. A very nice set out of Tennessee.
