Pair of wooden chairs-----------------------------An unusual pair of wooden chairs, with arms, bought in a saleroom some time ago and described at the time as Edwardian Drawing Room Chairs. I have no way of knowing if this is an accurate description, but they look right for the period.Solidly built, with multiple stretchers below for strength. They have wooden base seats, and we've always used them with scatter cushions rather than worrying about any need for addition. The backs have some kind of thick leather, or leather effect, panels. As you can see from the picture, one of these has split entirely due to age. Don't know enough about renovation to know what to do about that. Except ignore it, which is what we've always done.In good used condition, with one or two nicks in the seat bases, plus the back-panel issues, these look great in a period property. We had them in a large Victorian house, in the Dining Room, but have also been used as hall and landing chairs. Never seen a pair like this, and I do expect them to sell. I'm setting a start price rather than a hidden reserve, so we all know where we stand. Chairs are located in Holmfirth, HD9, and I'm listing these as collection only as I've had too many experiences of less-than-caring parcel operators. However, I'm happy to discuss your needs and wants regarding posting them read more
