This is a beautiful specimen of the stony-iron meteorite from Sasckatchewan, Canada named Springwater. The Springwater meteorite was found by farmers in 1931. Many pieces were found, with a total known weigh reported of ~70 kilograms. Springwater is a very rare meteorite, a pallasite, comprised of ~50% ni-rich iron and ~50 % olivine crystals . The Springwater meteorite is known for it's small crystals, beautiful etch and very good stability. It does not rust easily. I recently cut up a small specimen of Springwater and had some pieces break off during polishing, this is one of them. This meteorite is not often available. It weighs 0.241 gram is a micro piece with both metal and olivine. The cube in the photo measures 1 cm. I am a meteorite dealer and fully guarantee any meteorite and tektite I sell. Be sure to see me in the March 1999 issue of the Smithsonian Magazine, I am featured in an article about meteorite hunters! I am also featured in Fortune Small Business magazine. Fortune Small Business Magazine Buyer pays $2.00 shipping worldwide.
