Palmer House Hotel 2 Silver Plate Oblong Vegetable Bowls Serving Dishes.The rims are decorated with laurel leaf bands.Both were made by the International Silver Co. for the Palmer House in 1956 & 57 respectively. The first Palmer House opened in 1871 and burned down 13 days later during the Great Chicago Fire. It was rebuilt, that second building was replaced with the current hotel that was completed in 1925.Marks; IS International Silver Co., Silver Soldered, Palmer House, 05101. 7 IN, Date boxes, 56, 57 respectively.Condition: Long used. Pings and dings, scratches but no dents. These two bowls were severely tarnished, despite my best efforts, there is still very stubborn tarnish remaining. Utensil marks on the interior surfaces, more so on one than the other. Ignore that dark spot on photo 3, it's actually a reflection of the camera.Color: The colors in the photos are true to life.Dimensions: 7 1/2" X 5 1/4" X 1 1/2". Together they weigh, 2 pounds, 3 ounces.Please take a good look at the photos as they constitute the remainder of our description.A nice pair of Palmer House serving dishes.Please do not ask us to end an auction early or to add a "Buy-it-Now" price to an ongoing auction.
