View 1 View 2 View 3 View 4 Welcome! for your consideration is a Very Nice Copper or Brass or Bronze Medallion Commemorating the BOEING 727 FIRST COMMERCIAL JET LANDING and PAN AMERICAN WORLD AIRWAYS DECEMBER 1964 (Please Scroll down - More Description below) I am continuing to list all of the collections for my Mother-In-Law (Mollie): Silver Spoons, Souvenir Spoons, Dolls, Books, Porcelain, Vases, Tea Pots, Plates, Metalware (Silver, copper, brass, pewter etc) books, and much much more (You name it, she probably has a collection of it). I will be listing these as I have time so please come back and watch for the new items. Mom always had an eye for bargains, having grown up in the depression years, and when she got married in 1946 she was very frugal and perused garage sales and swap meets to find nice household furnishings that fit within their budget. Mom and Dad refinished many tables and dressers and bed frames and bookcases in order to have nice things at affordable prices. While at these places, Mom often ran across other things that she thought were neat and started her collections. Because of her enjoyment, and to keep busy, when Dad retired in the mid-70's, they ran a swap meet and had access to many more wonderful antiques and collectibles. Unfortunately Dad left this world in the 90's and this year Mom has decided she no longer has the energy to expend polishing, waxing, dusting her collections. She has ask me to offer them to other collectors, as in you! At her request, I am doing a little bit of research to figure out how to price the items, but I know so very little and so most of the items will probably be priced low. Some of the items were inherited from their grandparents! She has gotten enjoyment out of her collections for all of these years and doesn't expect to "get rich" or anything, she would just like fair prices. It costs to list each item separately, so some will be listed in lots. Please feel free to enlighten me - if you can offer me any help or advice on the makers marks or values - it would be most appreciated. Thank you..... and HAPPY BIDDING! Condition: Used - Excellent to Near MINT! Size: Approx. 3" in diam and 3/8" thick Description: I have zero knowledge of metals.The color of this suggests to me that it is copper or brass or bronze. It is heavy (approx 5 oz) so I assume that it was intended as a paperweight, but just to display in a collection it is very detailed and impressive. This medallion has a green felt backing that is in perfect condition. T is a wonderfully detailed rendition of the BOEING 727 in relief surrounded by the text: PAN AMERICAN WORLD AIRWAYS (top) THE BOEING COMPANY (bottom) (both are around the rim) and then above the image it says: PARTICIPANT FIRST COMMERCIAL JET LANDING BOEING 727 and below the image it says: TEMPELHOF AIRDROME BERLIN GERMANY DECEMBER 1964. Mom has many more metal collectibles of different kinds. Metal boxes, figures, miniatures etcl! If you like the metal collectibles, or any other collectibles, watch for more. T is light natural tarnish and some minor polish scratches on all of of the metal items. If I see what appears to my untrained eye as a definite fault, I will mention it. I do not know the maker for many of these items. If I have not listed the maker, I do not know it. All of her collectibles are very nice and will display beautifully!
