Offered are two uncut, hand-colored lithographof two articulated paper dolls (or puppets) – Pierrot and Colombine . PANTINS, Pierrot & Colombine , No. 1353, Pellerin & Cie, Imagerie d’Epinal, France, circa 1890. The company had its beginnings in 1796 in Epinal, France with J ean-Charles Pellerin, card maker and woodcutter. It is still in business today preserving and publishing many of historic images and adapted to modern printing techniques. Conditions: As seen, becoming brittle especially at the edges with small tears, corner chips, old adhesive from tape on verso of upper image – it shows through on Pierrot’s costume, old tape in the corners of lower image as it is mounted to brown cardstock. The images themselves are in great shape and otherwise fresh with true colors. Dimensions: 11-1/2 x 16 inches. (2) Note: We make every effort to describe our offerings as thoroughly as possible.
