These plates are quite old and quite extraordinary. Made in France, first quarter of the 19th century, possibly earlier. Fabulous plaid ribbon encloses multiple rose bouquets as it encircles the plate. Delicate insects on the center of the plate cover minor manufacturing imperfections, common with early porcelains. Nice gilded rim and verge.The painting is superior. Each plate measures 8.75' in diameter.No cracks or chips but they do show their age. There are some small spots of stacking wear and some gilding rub on rims and verge, and possibly some regilding done a long time ago. Still, quite old and beautiful. Thanks for looking.
