The Park Forest meteorite is a well known North American hammer fall, damaging buildings and denting cars on the night of March 26, 2003 just before midnight. The stone which landed in the Illinois town of Park Forest is classified as an L5 chondrite and the small specimen for auction displays the contrasting dark and light gray lithologies and shining metal flecks characteristic of this breccia. This fragment measures approximately 7mm x 4mm x 2mm and will be shipped in a gem jar. An I.D./provenance card will be included with this meteorite. The 1 cm. scale cube in the photos is not included in this sale. Paypal only will be accepted for payment and should be made within three days of the end of auction. Authenticity guaranteed.
