Up for bids is what I believe to be a cap and pen from two separate Parker 51 Fountain Pens since the jewels are two different colors. I am certainly not a pen expert and only purchase pens at estate sales for re-sale. They are being sold in "AS-IS" condition. I do not attempt to clean them, for fear of causing damage. The gold-colored cap is marked "1/10 16K Gold Filled Made in U.S.A.". There are 8 sections of vertical lines with an area approximately 1/4" x 9/16" for engraving and the cap band is engraved with chevrons. The clip is firm and it has a blue diamond at the top and "Parker" is spelled vertically. The cap has a pearlescent yellow jewel. The cap has scratches and a couple small dings that are typical for a used pen of it's age. There is some pitting or brassing on the cap and on the clip. From looking at other pens on line, the barrel looks to be Nassau green and it has a pearlescent green jewel set in a gold-colored rim. I am guessing at the name of the color, due to Nassau green being the only shade of green on the list for a 51 Vacumatic filler. I do not know how to see the entire nib, but it appears to be gold. The one-piece band on the pen is two-toned. If there were any Parker markings on the barrel, they are worn off with the exception of "5." that can be seen with magnification. The barrel has surface scratches. read more
