Offered is a well preserved and fascinating item for the specialist fossil insect collector; a piece of Cretaceous siltstone matrix approx 13cm X 13cm X 1cm, containing a good sized (3.5cm)fine partial example of the dragonfly Gomphaeschnoides obliquus , from the celebrated Santana Formation of BrazilWith two wings outstreched and the articulated head and thorax intact, with part of the abdomen in evidence, this exceptionally preserved example shows very fine detail of the wing veination and some original colour banding. There are indications of walking legs too!Modest reserve for so fine an example with two very detailed wings.........one for the serious collector!
