This auction is for the 2006 Patricia Breen ornament "Monet Santa" an Art Institute of Chicago exclusive limited edition ornament (but I am not sure of the number produced.) This ornament was inspired by "Water Lilies", the impressionist masterpiece by Claude Monet (French, 1840-1926) and is SOLD OUT. This ornament is truly a work of art. This incredible ornament features a fully glittered Santa wearing a pale blue, green and white robe which looks like the surface of a pond, very reminiscent of the painting. Floating all over his robe are multi colored pink water lilies floating with their lily pads. Santa's hat and sleeves are trimmed in the "fur-like" holographic glitter. He is holding a large water lily sitting on a spring green lily pad and the detail of the flower is incredible. This ornament is absolutely GORGEOUS and the sparkle is incredible! I tried to capture the amazing detail on this ornament but, trust me on this, the photos below do not do this ornament justice and does not capture the sparkle. This ornament was never displayed and is still in the sealed plastic from the studio, which explains the poor quality of the photos. This marvelous ornament stands approx. 5.5" tall. Patricia Breen has become internationally known for breathtakingly beautiful ornaments. Each requires about 30 hours of expert craftsmanship, read more
