Offered for sale is a rare document originating directly from the files of the Perez Steele Galleries and purchased several years ago from a public auction of their archives. As former subscribers to these classic sets are well aware, when each series was received by collectors, included was a "Guarantee Registration Card." These cards, which were the same dimension and stock as the Hall of Fame postcard series (5.5 by 3.5 inches), had to be filled out and returned to Perez Steele Galleries in order to continue receiving future series. The card formally registered the individually numbered series and guaranteed that the collector would be able to receive the same serial numbered set of the next series. No exceptions were made with this system, even for the Hall of Famers themselves who were given complementary subscriptions to these sets. Apparently the players were given the first sets, as all of their registration numbers are very low, confined to the first 200 or so out of 10,000. Offered in this lot is a registration card (registration number 189 of 10,000) signed by Pee Wee Reese, who has also filled in his address. Although signed Pee Wee Reese Perez Steele cards are relatively common, his actual registration card is practically unique.
