Depending on the length of your bike, you might have some extra wire, just bundle it up and zip tie it to the carrier under the controller. The nicest installations are w the wires are hidden under the frame or bars. The criteria for getting the highest speed and distance is [ if you weigh 175 lbs., the terrain is flat, no headwinds and aa minimum number of starts and stops ], you should be able to travel 20 to 25 mph and 20 miles between charges, I think in real life it will be approximately 20 mph and 16 miles. One TIP is, even though you can start without pedaling, you will get more distance if you start with one pedal at the top, stand up on that pedal, when it gets to the bottom; you will be moving and will have avoided drawing a big load off of the battery. To get the longest life from your battery, NEVER leave it setting discharged, even a little. If you take good care of your battery, it can last for a year or two or…more before you have to replace it. T is no good reason to give up this opportunity to exercise.
