New in the box Lionel 6-17736 Pennsylvania Scale X-31A Round-Roof Boxcar #60516 NEWLY TOOLED ROUND-ROOF BOXCARS In the early 1930s, Pennsylvania developed a new round roof style of boxcar that allowed for a taller 10’ inner height and increased overall loading volume. The largest number of them were class X31A boxcars, identified most clearly by a distinctive non-flush inset where the car sides met the rounded roof. By 1937, the efficient round roof design of PRR was adopted by the ARA and used on other railroads including Seaboard and Norfolk & Western. The newly-tooled, 1:48 scale boxcar is accurately made to match the original Pennsylvania X31A design. A great boxcar for both steam and diesel eras.Features: Die-cast metal sprung trucks andoperating couplers Hidden uncoupling tabs Die-cast metal frame Separately applied metal underframe details Opening doors Road Number: 60516 Gauge: Standard O Scale Dimensions: Length: 11 ¼” RailLine: Pennsylvania Minimum Curve: O-31
