Hello and welcome! Tuscany Book offers An original hand colored engraving of a flower or plant from a fragment of : Sweet, Robert The British Flower Garden... London: Simpkin and Marshall, 1823-37.This engraving was masterfully hand colored around 1823 at the time of publication. Some images have gum arabic applied to it, which makes the color of the original engraving quite vibrant, but it unfortunately also reflects the light oddly and does not look as good on the photograph as it does on the original. The original descriptive text of this flower accompanies the engraving. Both the artist and the engraver signed their name in the plate. The engraving is also dated in the plate. .
