Up for auction, we have a one day musical Swiss Gueissaz-Jaccard cuckoo clock. This clock came to us in its original box and all the packing materials were intact, so we don't believe it had ever been used. Even the original instructions were in there. We're unable to determine the date of manufacture, but for all intents and purposes, this clock is new. It has beautiful wood carvings of a bird and leaves, and a dancer's platform with wooden people. On the hour, the wooden cuckoo comes out of his door and calls the number of hours, then the Swiss dancers spin on their platform while the music box plays Schwarzwaldmuhle (Mill in the Black Forest ). On the half hour, the cuckoo calls once, then the dancers spin to Der Frohliche Wanderer (The Happy Wanderer). Very pretty tunes. We oiled the movement and music box, then hung it on the wall to insure it worked well, and it does. Since it's essentially new, we didn't have to do anything else. We've since tested it for several weeks in our home. It runs, cuckoos, the dancers dance, and the music box has a full beautiful sound. The clock is complete with a detachable crown, chains, three pine cone weights, and a pendulum. It has the one day Gueissaz-Jaccard movement. It would make a wonderful addition to any cuckoo clock collection. Please let us know if you have any questions or would read more
