This is Model 510 Perfection heater. It is the little brother of the model 525 (see the photos). It is two inches shorter and one inch narrower than the standard Perfection heaters. The 500 model series heaters were produced from about the time of World War I into the late 1930's. The lower drum is painted black and the upper drum is "blued" polished steel. The paper "Perfection Stove Company" label on the front of the heater is original. It's finishes are original except for the lid which was sand blasted down to bare metal and then primed and painted with DuraColor Gloss Black Engine Enamel which withstands temperatures up to 500 degrees. There is some surface rust on the bottom of the legs where the paint chipped off and a few blemishes on the blued upper drum.The "fount" (the fuel tank and burner) is clean inside and out. A barely used original #500 wick is installed, leveled and charred. The heater was filled with 1-K kerosene, lit and burned for two hours to assure that there were no leaks, no smoke and no odor. The wick was then removed and air dried and reinstalled. It will be shipped empty but is ready to be filled with kerosene and used immediately.Included is an LED bulb that imitates a burning flame, mounted on a 1/8 inch thick Masonite disk.
