GOOD to FAIR CONDITION This sale is for a vintage hardback FIRST EDITION entitled “ New Perspectives in Physics ,” by Louis De Broglie , translated into English by A. J. Pomerans, with numerous line drawings. It was published by Oliver & Boyd, of Edinburgh and London , and is the 1962 FIRST ENGLISH EDITION. The first parts of this book deal with de Broglie’s attempts to reinterpret wave mechanics. The final sections are concerned with philosophic and general topics and scientific history and progress. The index entries with the most entries include Albert Einstein, Werner Heisenberg, Erwin Schrodinger and Niels Bohr as wells as physics concepts such as: cybernetics, diffraction, electromatic fields, electrons, neutrons, photons, particles, psi wave, quantum mechanics, quantum theory, radiation, relativity theory, thermodynamics, wave mechanics, wave particle dualism and more… The book measures 8.75 inches x 5.75 inches and has 291 pages (including illustrations). The book is internally neat, with a poor dust-jacket (worn/torn with major loss), and a musty/tobacco odour when the book is opened.
