Captivating Original Edict Proclamation in that it says: "Don Gabriel de Aviles y del Fierro, Marquis of Aviles, General Lieutenant of Royal Army, Viceroy, Governor, and General Captain of this Kingdoms of Peru...in order to avoid the damages that cause to the health pots of copper, the lead which they contain the tin-platings, those of tin that have lead mixture and the bad glass finishes of those of mud: Don Carlos, by the God Grace King of Castile, of Leon, of Aragon, of two Sicilias, of Jerusalem...seen the unfortunate damage which it causes to the humanity the use of the vinegar and other liquors and eatable, that are not conserved in vasijas (pots, plates and bottles) suitable, and with the last case of having sickened thirteen people and deceased two, to used of vinegar of new earthen jar glassed. I Give the following Regulation. ." The Edict has all the text of the regulation and deals about the good handling and better use of materials at the time of making the different containers for: Wine, vinegar, liquors, oil, butter, honey, brandy etc. "..in Lima, July 16 of 1803".
