Petal Subminiature Camera by The Sakura Seiko Company. The Petal is an attractive subminiature camera produced around 1948 in Occupied Japan. It takes six 6mm circular images on a 25mm film disc in a special cassette. The lens is a fixed focus 12mm/f5.6 and the simple shutter has settings for B & I. To advance the film the back is rotated until a number engraved around the circumference aligns with a red dot. I hope you can see from the photographs that this particular example is in excellent condition. I have shown it compared to a 50p piece to give you an idea of the size. Because the camera is shown larger than life every mark shows up. The actual camera looks far better. As far as I can tell, without putting a film through the camera, everything seems in perfect working order. The camera comes in it's original packing & box together with one film cassette and instructions.
