Peter was sent into service at a brickyard at the age of 13 but soon left this brutal job to begin his career as a potter at Royal Copenhagen. He opened his own factory at 28 years of age and established relationships with many renowned Danish artists of the time and became successful enough to build a new factory by 1847. His son Bertel, also a potter, took over the company in 1865, a few years after Peter's death. He opened shops in Paris and London and was represented at most of the world expositions of the time. Thanks for looking and please ask any questions.
