Petroleum or crude oil is a highly complex mixture of cycloparaffinic and aromatic hydrocarbons, containing low percentages of sulfur and trace amounts of nitrogen and oxygen compounds. Said to have originated from plants and animal sources from millions of years ago. This sample is a black, viscous liquid and considered sweet (low sulfur content). A.P.I. gravity = 30.6. It was derived from horizontal drilling and fracturing in a shale bedrock. Strata is the Niobrara shale formation, late Cretaceous, in the Wattenberg field. Petroleum fractions are obtained by distillation and cracking. This material is shipped in compliance with USPS Publication 52. Shipping is $6.75. Paypal payment only.
