Up for bid is a 2 " INCH BALL STAKE, ALL SOLID STEEL CONSTRUCTION . For General Blacksmithing, Forging and Sheet metal forming and armor making and is extremely durable. The ball top is made of hardened tool steel. Great for hot work and repeated heavy use. This Solid Tool Steel Ball Top is completely hardened all the way through like the head of a hammer and unlike ductile iron which can dent and be damaged because it only has a hardened surface and the underneath is softer metal. Overall length is about 16 1/2" The Shank is black in color and is about 12 1/4" long and 1" square. You can place this is a bench vise to work with or if your prefer the shank ends in a sharp taper but it does fit the standard 1" tapered hole or 1" hardie hole . Mounting plate, other stakes and ruler (not included) You can mount it on a work bench, anvil hole. Or drill a 1" O.D. hole in the wooden stump or block then hammer it in place for use. The Stake weighs about 14lbs. Condition; The ball top is in overall excellent shape. It has been used as a tool and has extremely tiny bit of pitting in a few spots but, it is smooth to the touch. There are no identifying marks, no cracks or apparent damage,it is an handmade-forged item. Only (1) 2 " ball stake is included in this listing. There are no other items included in this listing.
