A close to Fine copy with NO markings . The story of PFC Merriel Alvin Longacre(1920-1998), a paratrooper me dic whose severely wounded body was left with the dead on the battlefield of the bulge. When found alive, he was taken to a rear First-Aid Station where reluctant field surgeons applied basic aid to appease the soldier they thought would surely die. His recovery was considered a medical miracle. Many training photographs at the Alliance Air Base in Nebraska where Longacre trained .
