Philadelphia and Lancaster Turnpike Share Certificate, 1795 Signed by William Bingham Philadelphia and Lancaster Turnpike 1 Share of stock, No. 414 (early low number), dated March 16 th , 1795 with a lovely strike. The certificate is printed on vellum (sheep skin) and is the earliest known American item with a vignette. The certificate is signed by William Bingham, the wealthiest man in the nation at the time, uncancelled. Fine.
