Up for auction is a Philco radio/phonograph model 46-1201 "Bing Crosby Special." This unique set works like a cd player: open the door in front, insert a 78 RPM record, close the door, and enjoy the music! People just stand and stare in amazement when I show them: Truly an outstanding conversation piece. You can see a video of the phonograph in action here The cabinet is mostly original finish with some repainting of the side panels. Inside and out, it's very clean with only minor signs of wear. The Philco decal and control labels are still in place. The radio has been recapped, and any out-of-tolerance components and weak tubes replaced. It was then aligned for best reception. The phonograph was cleaned, re-lubed, adjusted, and a new cartridge with a sapphire or diamond needle installed. Everything works beautifully.
