is a fabulous and quite unique amateur record of a trip taken by a group of friends from New Zealand via Rarotonga and Tahiti to the United States of America in June and July 1921. While in America, they travelled through San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Tia Juana, Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Portland and Seattle. This is a complete album of 248 photos, each measuring 3" x 4". They are all mounted in the original leather bound album, plus t is one additional loose photo of the group, which has been sent over by friends in America after their return, with the following caption handwritten on the back: "How are your kiddies and had they forgotten you on your return". The photos in the album have fascinating comments handwritten in pencil on the back of each one. These will have been put t by the photographer to jog his memory, when it came time to mount them in the album. I carefully removed a few of the photos from their corner mounts to see that some of these are dated, and from this it is clear that the trip was in the period June - July 1921. It is easy to remove them to see what is handwritten on the reverse and then place them back in their mounts.
