Photostats - WW II - Imperial Japanese Army - POW Documents Photostats of two documents regarding the status of a US soldier who was a prisoner of the Japanese during WW II. [Your eyes are not deceiving you - these both are mirror images.] Described individually below. Undated but between 1942 and 1944. Official notification that Marvel V. Peterson, American, Corporal 1, is being held at Philippine Military Prison Camp No. 10. It was sent to his mother, Mrs. M. V. Peterson, Milton Junction, Wisc. U. S. Censor's mark. Measures approx. 4 1/2" x 5 7/8". Form from the Japanese Imperial Army regarding the condition of Marvel V. Peterson and signed by him. He states that he is being interned in Philippine Military Prison Camp No. 10; his health is excellent; he is not under treatment; he is well. The comment is added - "Please see Mother and tell her that I am O. K." Measures approx. 4 1/2" x 5 7/8". Additional Information Marvel V. Peterson (1921 - 1944) was from Janesville, Wisconsin. He was one of five children and grew up in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. His parents divorced and his mother remarried a man from Janesville. Marvel enlisted in the National Guard on November 25, 1940, in Janesville.
