You are bidding on the book PicturesqueWashington, Pen and Pencil Sketches, by Joseph West Moore ,published in 1888 by J A Reid, Providence RI. This is a nice souvenir book of the nation's capital, with numerous B&W sketches and illustrations, throughout, both full plate and in text. Bound in original tan boards lettered in dark red and gilt, with beveled board edges and all edges gilt. There are some very faint scuff marks to fep where someone has erased previous owner's name otherwise this is a very nice example of a book that rarely shows up in good condition. Board edges are sharp, with minor wear to corners,minor rippling to cloth on front board, but overall a very clean sharp copy with great period illustrations and a map at rear.
