Clock Glass Decal/Transfer for Circa 1820s Antique Pillar & Scroll shelf/mantel clock, New Old StockI recently found a collection of clock transfers and decals used to decorate the clock glasses traditionally found in various types of American 19th-century mantle and shelf clocks. These decorative decals are applied to the back of a clock glass that has lost its original transfer, or in some cases, reverse glass painting.Designs similar to these may have been found in OG clocks, steeple and the beehive clocks double-decker and triple-decker clocks, pillar and scroll clocks, Wood Works, kitchen clocks and other American made mantle clocks.When they are applied to the back of the clock glass, either the clear original glass, or a new glass, the designs, which have been reproduced to replicate the antique original art work, can restore the clock to its former beauty. There is no need to apply the transfer to a piece of cardboard and then insert the cardboard behind the glass.
