A coil set for late 1920's famous Pilot Wasp receiver. These were built by Twin Coupler of Poughkeepsie, NY, for Pilot and their Short Wave radio kits. These are for the Wasp. I'm sure they will work for many home made sets too. The coils are in great shape. The original box is a little rough, one end is not attached and t are some small holes etc. As with every other of the 5 or 6 sets of these coils I have ever seen, the colors of the plastic coil handles has changed from the original shade. Nevertheless, when I compare this set to another set I have, I believe this set has two green coils and is missing the yellow coil. Each color coil covers a different frequence range. So, although t are the correct number of coils (5), the yellow (48-105 meters) appears missing and in its place is a extra green coil (93-203meters). The red coil appears to have too many windings to be covering 17-30 meters. However, the coil is so professionally wound and with the identical silk covered green wire, I really cannot be sure when combined with the coil color issues. This is how I purchased it, but the previous owner neglected to notice or point it out to me. I am sure one could rewind coils on the form to any frequency range wanted. So, please bid on these coils "as is" with no reserve, with this information. Good luck and I hope you can use them. read more
