You are looking at abeautiful set (3-SW) and optional LW of Ping Eye 2 "square groove" (not the plus model) , right hand, Black dot irons in EXCELLENT condition. The set has different serial numbers due to replacements from lost clubs The serial numbers on the 3,4,5,6,7,9,W are 667580, 8 iron is 649615A and is a +no+ model, the SW is 659021. All clubs have the much sought after Ping factory fitted ZZ-Lite stiff flex steel shafts. Note: Shaft bands are intact. All clubs also have original ping eye white color diamond grips that are showing signs of wear but still have some play left in them. Soles, grooves (nice and deep) and faces look great (see Pics) Note: there is very minor wear showing on some of the club heads but they still look outstanding for their age . The pictures show all. I am also making available the LW (serial number 670632) shown in the pictures for an additional $50, it was purchased by the original owner to use with the set and has the same specs as the original set. If you are interested in the LW just add the $50 to your payment. CONDITION : EXCELLENT , On a scale of 1-10 I'd give them an easy 8.0. HISTORY: These clubs look great with only minor wear showing. This is one of the best feeling and playing Ping Eye 2 sets you can own. The technology behind these clubs combined a perfect unmatched blend of "Somewhat Compact Size" by today's club standards, a very "Forgiving Perimeter Weighted Design" and astounding "Ball Stopping Ability" on the greens from the "NON-CONFORMING SQUARE GROOVES". Because the distance between these grooves is so close together, the actual groove itself is wider with sharp squared corners, allowing more space to absorb grass, sand and dirt-allowing the club face much better contact with the ball-thus creating far superior ball traction (More Spin!) over all other clubs-so much in fact that the USGA outlawed these in tournament play until they were later grandfathered in. Karsten and PING began manufacturing the NON CONFORMING SQUARE GROOVES IN 1985. In Nov 1989 thru March of 1990, following an epic court ruling in which these legendary square grooves were grandfathered in to be allowed to participate in USGA tournament play, Karsten agreed to transition to a conforming square groove in which the grooves were narrowed slightly and a radius (round edge) was added to the remarkable sharp edged illegal square grooves. That is what has made these clubs so highly sought after-their legendary ability to add so much more feel and control to your close game.
