Hi! Up for auction today is a RARE Tron cocktail arcade videogame. This game was released by Bally/Midway in 1982 in conjunction with the Disney computer animated movie, at the heart of the classic videogame era. Tron took many of my quarters as a teen, in arcades long gone. Space Invaders was my first addiction, but Tron came in a close second. I would play this game into early hours of the morning at various hotels. The tank game alone will hook you for hours. The tron upright model is easy to come by, but I can honestly say as a videogame and pinball machine collector of several years, I have NEVER EVER seen a Tron cocktail videogame for sale anyw I imagine they are out t, but are probably hard to find.This game is plug and play, and works great. It will gladly accept your quarters, and the coin box which appears to be original IS included. The montior has light burn in showing the MCP cone mode if you look closely. Nevertheless, it is VERY bright and crisp. The player one overlay has noticeable wear at the edge. The cabinet has a couple chips and t but still is in very good shape. T are light scratches throughout the glass but no cracks. This is a 3 day listing, NO RESERVE, so.....bid NOW!This is THE ultimate Christmas gift for that diehard classic videogame junkie. T are actually four games in one. (Killer List of Videogames) mentions the following about this classic: Light Cycles: The player controls a Light Cycle that leaves a blue trail. The joystick controls the direction of travel and the trigger controls the speed of the bike. The object is force the enemy Light Cycles (yellow) to run into each other or the trails while avoiding crashing. Grid Bugs: Destroy the Grid Bugs and escape into the I/O Tower before the timer runs out. The stick controls the movement of your character and the whirlygig controls the direction of fire. Tanks: Destroy all enemy tanks or Recognizers to clear the level. The stick controls the movement of your tank and the whirlygig controls the direction of fire. MCP Cone: Destroy the blocks (similar to Breakout) and move your character into the cone to clear the level. A bonus is awarded if you destroy all the blocks. The stick controls the movement of your character and the whirlygig controls the direction of fire.Miscellaneous LICENSOR: The TRON name and concept were licensed from Walt Disney, the makers of the film. One of the more unique touches in the game is that the levels, instead of being simply designated "Level 1, 2, 3, etc.", were named after programming languages; you start out at "RPG" and advance through "PASCAL", "BASIC", "ASSEMBLER", etc. until you reach the "USER" level.This game is located in Richmond, VA at my house, 23229 zip code.
