Pedestaled Cake Stand Pale Pink Pressed Milk Glass The shade of soft pink used for this gorgeous cake stand is gorgeous. The embossed detailing is wonderful and I will describe it in sections: Cake Plate – The beaded rim is raised approximately ½” to keep cake from sliding off when you are moving it. The embossed surface has an intricate lattice and sunburst design. The outside of the rim is smooth, but this transitions to a stippled/roughened surface underneath – perhaps to give you a better grip when handling the stand. Pedestal - The rounded center is embossed with a stippling, vine and scroll design. The sections above and below this rounded center are smooth. Base - The base flares from the pedestal and has similar embossing of stippling, vines and scrolling. The base is supported by a row of beading that matches that on the upper rim. Please take time to enlarge the photos to evaluate the beauty of this plate. Unfortunately, there is no manufacturer’s mark to help identify origin! Age : Circa early to mid 1900s Size : 10” diameter x 5” tall Condition : Excellent estate condition. One shallow 1/16 th inch chip along top edge of rim (see photo). No cracks.
