... This sale item is a lot of TWO Different C.M.T.C. shooters award PINS, from about the late-1930s. ~ Citizens' Military Training Camps (CMTC) were military training programs of the United States. Held annually each summer during the years 1921 to 1940, the CMTC camps differed from National Guard and Reserves training in that the program allowed male citizens to obtain basic military training without an obligation to call-up for active duty. The CMTC were authorized by the National Defense Act of 1920 as a compromise that rejected universal military training.... My photos show the exact items that you are getting. ~ There are no makers marks on the 2" x 1/4" pinback awards, that appear to be silver-plated over brass. ~ These are PISTOL SHOT 1st CLASS C.M.T.C. and MARKSMAN C.M.T.C. ~ Both have light signs of wear, and heavy tarnish....
