This pith helmet was in our loft, but I honestly can't tell if it's a 'fancy dress' modern type or of genuine vintage age. But for the cheap price I'm asking it might be worth taking a chance? It says in the label inside: 'Made in India for Zimmsons, Oakland, California.' Can't tell you much more about it. This is some information as to the pith helmet's origins: The Vietnamese learned the art of pith helmet manufacturing a hundred years ago from the French during their occupation. Around 1870 the pith helmet became popular with military personnel in Europe's tropical colonies One size fits all.
