My weathered cars are customized over a three day process with varying combinations of pastel chalks, washes, hand painting, dry brushing and airbrush. The finished product is sealed with dullcoat. Be assured that no two cars are exactly alike.You're bidding on an Athearn hopper. This car is fitted with metal wheelsets set in sprung trucks, and with Kadee knuckle couplers, adjusted to NMRA height. The car has been weighted to NMRA Standards by the addition of weight under the load. Comes in a "vintage" red Athearn box. This car is a New York Central (NYC) 55 ton ribbed side 2-bay hopper. The car wears then oval New York Central System herald and road number 834592, with a built date of 12-42 and a shop date of 5-48. The scratchbuilt coal load is removable.
