ABOUT THE ARTISTS: These are designed by myself...Having been in anything having to do with design/art since I can remember,my passionate eye has always been drawn to "one of a kind, over the top,very bold,flamboyant" pieces,where simplicity is not apart of the picture..Ideas are constantly poppin' in my head,so that is when I get out the drawing book! Always having been a woman who loves an earring with lots of dangles,I wanted to design an earring that was different,one that had not been seen before,a classy,chunky dangle,that had a lot of SW statement,along with a Mexican sort of a feel.So,that is how these came about! I always had great jewelry ideas,but it wasn't till meeting Oaxaca born,Carlos Gutierrez that my designs turned into reality..Every jewelry designer either makes the jewelry or has a metalsmith do it for them & being that I gave up the jewelry bench over 40 years ago,this is my jeweler of choice that I continually use,since I am always more than pleased & wowed, when I receive them..We work close together,with my drawings & with his long time jewelry skills,he makes my designs,exactly how they were drawn,with fantastic quality workmanship,that I will have nothing but..Carlos is now USA based & has been the jeweler for more than 20 years now,that makes all of Federico Jimenez's Oaxaca Dove/Frida style jewelry..I hope you appreciate this design,as much a I... DESCRIPTION/MEASUREMENTS: These have both, a Mexican & Native American inspired design within...There are many of us women,(including myself) who love the beauty of large earring,with a load full of statement dangles upon dangles..Weight don't matter to us,as long as it is different & beautiful and makes us stand out from the rest !! We are the type who despise "common" looking pieces that everyone & their friends own..These are the epitome of all that!! And there is nothing more beautiful,that a earring overloaded with chunky dangles,unlike any other,without that 'common' sort of look..There is some serious appeal to these,with a look that is not dainty..I don't say this often,but I have to say,these definitely have a look that will floor & wow you when you see them in hand!!! These are the type that would definitely catch my own eye, if I saw them in a retail outlet & that would make me pull out the pocketbook!! These have a high end quality feel to them & are not made with no light weight sterling,but rather, a durable gauge sterling,they have a nice strong diamond shape top,with a richly oxidized background that holds the 2 kissing doves & the bezel set natural white pearl cross.Stamping along the perimeter, follows the shape,like a beautiful,angelic picture..There are 2 tiers of hand made sterling stamped cone dangles & beads,that are also richly oxidized,giving these their almost darkened pewter color,antique style beauty & their exotic,dramatic appearance!! The dangles lay in a "V" form,with the measurement on the outer dangles is approx.3~1/2",next measurement is 3~3/4" & the longest center measures 4~1/8"The have a combined weight of 1.6 ounces & are for pierced ears.(If you like these & cannot wear a post & maybe need a clip,or if you would like these in a shorter style,please contact me) Hallmarked is shared with a copyrighted hallmark of "Plata Designs, PGB"/CG 925 Made in USA"..Come boxed.I am so pleased with the way these came out,all the way around the board & all I can say is,these are definitely a keeper & treasure,unlike no other!!
