Here we have an interesting and attractive colour postcard of Slade Ravine, Plumstead Common, South London, near Woolwich. It shows four small children alongside a lake and the message on the back says: "My brother has sent you this card showing my sister in the view in the Slade taken coming home from school. Mandie's marked with cross." The card has some corner wear and unfortunately the ink used to mark Mandie has also created flying saucer shapes in the sky. This is a Molyneaux Series Woolwich card and is fairly early as the postage called for is 1/2d. It is of British make so possibly dates from the WW1 era. It was not posted. Interestingly, especially for anyone interested in Plumstead, Woolwich, South London and unusual message cards. This lot has been relisted at a reduced price. I do not relist items indefinitely but return them to my show stock. As I now have an eBay shop anyone who purchases one of my items might want to look there before paying. Additional postage is free for subsequent purchases unless they are too big for my normal very low basic rates.See my other items ! When payment for lots won is received by teatime British time (the servants usually dish it up about 4:30) I normally post the item the next morning. Our village post office is closed on Saturdays, however, so if you pay on Friday the item will not read more
