This amber specimen comes from the mines of Simojovel Chiapas , Mexico . Chiapas Amber is thought to be between 20 and 30 million years old and originates from the hymanaea protera tree . This specimen was hand polished in our workshop in Taxco , Mexico . The specimen weighs 5.3 grams and measures 1.25 inch long by 1 inches wide by .5 inches thick. In the light of the sun,the piece appears red green in color, held agains the sun the piece appears clean free of inclusions or cracks (see pictures) .Under uv lamp the piece appeard green blue flourecence.The piece is completed polished.
