LOT 288Seller's Estimate: USD 600 - 900(POP-CARTOGRAPHICA.) A deer skin covered lockbox with Phelps' 1847 Ornamental Map of the United States as a liner. 7x8.5x13 inches. Extensive metal and leather work. Various portions of loss, but better than one would expect. Portions of the map have been cut away to make it better fit the decorative scheme of the interior. [United States, circa 1850]According to a note included with the box, it was brought into Columbiana County, Ohio by Conestoga wagon.Payment:The buyer is responsible for paying the seller directly after winning the item.
