POPPY JASPER STONE ROUGH LAPIDARY 41 lb.This piece is mainly gold, with red and yellow and throughout. The first picture is a sample of this lot slabbed. It is shown as an example only, and is not included in this sale. This is from the last mine shipment from the Famous Morgan Hill Poppy Jasper mine about 40 years ago - before it closed for good. There is no plans to quarry it again. It was purchased by a friend who is a member of the Idar-Oberstein Signet Ring Guild for carving into sculpture.I was given a portion of that shipment that I have slabbed and cabbed for years, and these are my final 2 piecesI have 2 raw, unslabbed pieces up for sale. These pieces are raw and unconsolidated - almost all material available now has been resin stabilized - whether sellers know that or not. Poppy Jasper (or Orbicular Jasper) forms is formed in Brecciated faults, so consolidation is common.I have seen pieces this size listed for $25.00 a pound, so I believe $10.00 a pound is a reasonable price. This is a great deal for anybody who has a slab saw like mine, and knows what they are doing. There is tremendous resale potential here for producing slabs.Shipping to the US only, no trades. eBay or PayPal payments only.
