This auction is on a porcelain figurine of Pulcinella. He is holding a tamborine in his hand painted with a scene on it. He is dresssed in white, with a mime's type collar on his tunic style shirt. He is wearing a white cap which hangs down onto his shoulder, and has on a black mask covering his eyes and large, hooked type, nose. He has on a belt, with a stick tucked in the belt, and t are pretty brown buttons on his tunic. Pulcinella is always depicted dressed in these clothes and always has the large hooked nose and mask. He is standing on a base which looks like rocks, with a tree stump, and roots coming from the stump, grass, and leaves on the rock base. He is in mint condition, and is very different and striking. He would be great for a collector of Italian figures, anyone who likes fine art work, or Italian folklore. On the base by his shoe is signed the name Rori. On the bottom of the base it has a crown, with a N under it, says LA n. Media by Rori. It says also, Porcellane Capodimonte Made in Italy. From what I have read Capodimonte is the finest porcelain in Italy and Capodimonte is also a certain style. I cannot seem to find another like this figurine of him, it seems to be unique. The pictures do not do it justice, it is very interesting. The detail on this piece is exceptional and it looks as if it has just come from read more
