Portland Potteries Hunting Scene Jug This Hunting Scene jug was made by Portland Potteries of Cobridge who I gather, from some research may have manufactured this during the period 1946 to 1953. It stands 16cm high, the diameter of the opening at the top is 6.5cm, the diameter of the base is 9 cm and the width from the nose of the fox’s head spout to the edge of the riding crop handle is 16.5 cm. On the front face there is a horse & rider with hounds giving chase and on the reverse there is a fox’s head, whip & hedge detail. “PPC England” embossed on base. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing and makes a lovely ornamental decorative piece or can be used as a vase. Please note that the photograph is taken against a mirror in order to show the pattern on the back & that this is an auction for one jug only. any questions please ask
