Offered is a large Portmeirion pitcher and bowl from the Botanic Gardens collection. Pitcher is about 8-1/2" tall and bowl is 11" in diameter and about 4-1/2" tall. Inside center of bowl and both sides of pitcher have Christmas Rose transfer. Design reminds me of vintage wash bowls and pitchers used in homes in the early 1900's, and perhaps earlier. Butterflies and floral garlands encircle the pitcher and bowl. Bowl has transfer on inner and outer sides. Stamped "The Botanic Garden Circa 1818, Portmeirion, Susan Williams-Ellis, Made in England, Dishwasher Proof, Oven to Table, Freezer and Microwave Safe". The date or number 1972 is stamped on both pieces. I'm not knowledgeable about whether Portmeirion dates their pieces, or if this is a number; however both bear the 1972 In excellent condition with no chips, cracks or breaks. Light spots in photos are glare. Would make a stunning centerpiece for your Christmas dining table filled with fresh greenery and holly berries, or used as a large serving bowl and pitcher to serve your beverages. Beautiful!
