termitefox Oil on Canvas 70cm x 57cm (95cm x 80cm framed)27.5 x 22.5 inches (37 x 32 inches framed) Portrait of a Gentleman 1713 Monogram SREarly 18th Century French School A stunning 300 year old oil painting of a French gentleman, signed with a monogram and dated 1713. Unlike most painting of this age it is still on its original canvas and has not been lined. Presented in a later stylish silver and gold dappled frame. This painting would add grace and splendour to any room and be equally at home in a modern or period house. CONDITIONThe canvas has been remounted on a new stretcher. There are areas of overpainting to the background and the gentleman’s forehead. Old repaired abrasion across the shoulders. A few minor scuffs but generally in good order for a painting of this age.
