Be sure to add me to your favorites list ! You are Bidding on a Beautiful Portuguese Renaissance Velvet Border. Description: This beautiful border was created in Portugal during the late Renaissance. The textile has a black cotton velvet ground upon which lovely stylized floral motifs have been appliqued with gold linen and metallic gold yarns. The textile is framed on three sides with a yellow border, which also includes bronze threads. The border has been backed with cotton and has a burlap tab at one end for hanging.The fabric measures 9.25" in width by 8' 2.75" in length. This border would look wonderful framed or hung and would be ideal for the serious collector of antique textiles! Condition: This is antique fabric. There are some small holes or areas that are becoming worn and many of the metallic yarns are broken or worn away.There is some fading and surface dirt.Please see photos for reference.All fabrics, wallpapers and paintings are sold "as is".Our items are vintage and some are more than 100 years old.
