Greetings from Olde River Hard Goods. Dealers in antique tools for users as well as collectors. We also sell other items of the 18th and early 19th century as well as selected new woodworking hand tools. You are bidding on ONE Potter Patent 1903 Saw Jointer. Measuring 5 3/8" long by 2 5/16" high. William M. Potter of Syracuse, NY was granted patent number 738,354 on Sept 8 1903 for this item. This was made by E C Stearns. Later examples of this tool also have the Cotter's patent date of March 28, 1911 (patent number 988,290) on them as well. So this tool dates between 1903 and 1911. (I really hope you were taking note's cause t will be a quiz!) Good shape for the age, does have some minor patina. The center screw and nut work as does the screw for that sliding arm on the bottom. The screw for the center plate does not remove. Ain't perfect but it's a good collectible for sure! I'd like to wish everyone a safe and happy Holiday season. May ye always be sailing with the wind at your back and your glass always be filled! And remember..the more ya buy, the cheaper dey fly! Good luck bidding and be sure to hit the button to visit my Ebay . Lots of goodies in t as well. And remember, buying old tools is kinda like buying oats. Good oats always cost more than those that have been run through the horse one time, ifn'a ya catch my drift! read more
