Item - Revolutionary War Era Powder Horn Description - This awesome old powder horn came from an impressive collection of Civil War and earlier artifacts and equipment - an estate from Mendon, Massachusetts. This powder horn has a wooden plug nailed into the larger opening, and on it is inscribed "M.C. 1771." The other end has a carved section meant to hold a strap in place. The opening w the powder would be poured has a simple wooden peg as a stopper. The horn measures about 12 1/2" long and it is 2 3/4" at the widest point. It certainly shows light wear, but t are no cracks or breaks anyw in the horn. IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ: If this type of item interests you, then feel free to add me to your favorite sellers list .
