THE PRACTICAL SCIENCE OF BILLIARDS AND ITS POINTER by Colonel C.M. Western. Only Edition Published in 1911. An exceptionally rare and highly collectable book and one I personally have never seen on e-bay - or anywhere else for that matter. This particular copy has water staining to the front cover and spine but internally it is immaculate (see photos). This facinating book treats the game of billiards as a science or mathematical problem and discusses "the laws governing the motion and direction of the balls". In this it is similar to the equally rare title "Billiards Mathematically Treated" by G.W. Hemming. The "pointer" in the title is an instrument which points on on a billiard table the direction the balls will follow under every possible condition, and detailed directions (including a large fold out diagram) on how to make it are given. A rare opportunity to acquire one of the most sought after works on Billiards. Low start price and a modest reserve !! I always combine postage and give a full no quibble money back guarantee on all my items. Please see my other items on e-Bay I am listing many interesting books and other unusual items of Billiards Memorabilia.
